​Administrators and Teachers:
 
I am pleased to announce an Advanced Accounting Professional Development Training for Business and Marketing teachers in the state of Kentucky.  The three day training session will be held July 11-13, 2016 at the KY Society of CPA office in Louisville, Kentucky.  The past several years, many Kentucky educators attended this training and have spoken very highly about the course and the materials. To learn more about the Advanced Accounting Project and course, please visit www.accountingpilot.com.  This year, the American Institute of CPAs is sponsoring a portion of the funding to provide this to teachers in select states in the U.S.  Kentucky is one of the selected states!
 
This training is open to any Kentucky Business and Marketing Educator who has an interest in teaching the course.  The training will be capped at 35 teachers, and the teachers are responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses.  The teachers who respond and fill out the application and are accepted, will receive a $100 stipend per day to attend the training.  I have attached the application that needs to be completed by everyone wishing to attend the training and sent back to me ASAP.  Everyone who attends will receive a free textbook and curriculum binder for the course along with a free financial calculator used by the instructors.
 
The Accounting Department at Western Kentucky University is willing to award ACCT 200 credit for any student who has taken the advanced course and earned a 3 or higher on the qualifying exam.  
 
In addition to working with universities on awarding credit, the KY Business Education taskforce also agreed to add this course in several of the career pathways that we offer.
 
If you are interested in attending, please fill out the attached application.  You must be present the entire three days of the workshop in order to be eligible to teach the course.  As I receive applications, I will let you know whether yours has been approved or not and if you’re eligible to receive the daily stipend.
