Image Editing Projects

Example assignments (I start with basic tools such as sizing the image, cropping, brightness & contrast, color picker, background/foreground, etc.) then go to layers and the many other tools and effects.

Sample Assignments:

1.       Charlie – size, crop, get rid of ear tag.

 

2.       Girl with red eyes – zooming in and fixing eyes which will be needed during the semester for other projects

 

 

3.       Chef Mellon – this comes with the Adobe tutorials and teaches the different ways to cut out parts of images using the marquee tools, lasso tools, magic wand, and quick select tools.  To get instructions click here (pdf).

 

 

4.       Rose – learn background, cutout, stroke, bevel emboss and other effects

 

 

5.       Blue Flower – layers, gradient fills with lighting effects, adding vector graphic

 

 

6.       Blue Corvette –resize, crop, cut out car, motion blur to background, radial blur to wheels, obtain teacher pic from website and put in car behind windshield and mirror, add name with two effects.

 

 

7.       Make a teacher a star

 

 

8.       Slenderize/Bulk Up – this photo is from www.Lynda.com  and is one of their tutorials which are really good.
